Collection: Khayameya
Dating back to medieval Cairo, the term “khayameya” coming from “kheyma” means tent. At the time, tents were used in large ceremonies such as weddings and festivals and were adorned by khayameya patterning. The Egyptian textile art incorporates hand embroidery with appliqué and quilting to decorate fabric. Today khayameya is applied to home accessories, clothing, wall hangings and more.
